Paris • Day 13

Although the tour pamphlet only lists Paris as a one day stop, I'm sure we must have stayed there longer than that. We did way too much to have just been there one day. We visited the Notre Dame, and the Eiffel Tower, among other places. Unfortunately, during our visit to the Eiffel Tower, we did not get to go to the very top level, which was very disappointing. Because some of the people were running short on money, and our tour leader insisted that the group stay together, we only got to go to the second level on the tower... but this still offered an amazing view of Paris.

The only major attraction that we skipped in Paris was the Louvre. Get this, we skipped the tour of the Louvre for the opportunity to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe in Paris. Although we had a good time, and I don't regret missing the hasty and incomplete tour (according to those who did go) of the world's most famous museum, take this fact into account if you are ever considering making the same decision that I made: The burgers taste the same in Paris as they do in Dallas, Houston, & San Antonio.

Even after doing all of this, we still had time to visit Versailles. This place was amazing. The Court of the Chateau at Versailles (pictured) was unbelievable, and the Hall of Mirrors was breathtaking. I could only imagine what it must be like to live in a place like this. It was almost ethereal just to visit this place. This must be like a Club Med for celestial beings. You should definitely click on the link above to see more of these sights.
